Flying High
The World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris came a close with a winner crowned Sunday night in the High Roller event at the Aviation Club de France. When the players took their seats at the start of play, Sorel Mizzi had the lead, followed closely by Freddy Deeb. As we've seen so often before, the leaders at the start of the day sometimes fail to make it to the end. Not this time, however, it was Mizzi and Deeb who went into heads-up play, with Mizzi leading the way.
Although Mizzi is on an incredible tournament run this year, it was Deeb who finished this one. "He played great and I got lucky...I'm pretty speechless at the moment," he said.
WPT Grand Prix de Paris High Roller Results
1. Freddy Deeb - 290,000
2. Sorel Mizzi - 120,000
3. Roger Hairabedian - 40,000
4. Gianni Giaroni - 25,262
Check out the PokerNews Live Reporting page for interviews with both Deeb and Mizzi.

WSOP-C Record Breaker
The World Series of Poker Circuit's last stop of the 2009/2010 season is one for the record books. In the Circuit's six years, there has been no woman who won two gold rings - until now. Daphne "Tweety" Turner made history by collecting her second WSOP-C ring at the New Orleans stop. She defeated Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler heads-up in the $300 + $40 buy-in mixed game event over the weekend that attracted 68 players.
This isn't the first time Turner has made history. Two years ago, she became the first woman to win an open WSOP-C event. Turner credits her husband for getting her started in the game and says she hopes to play more events in the future, including the 2010 WSOP.
