Conor 1_conor_b_1 Beresford reached the final table of the PokerStars Sunday Million in Aug. 2012 and had to make do with a fifth-place finish worth $65,800. Now Beresford can brag of being a Sunday Million champion after the young Netherlands-based British star outlasted 10,930 opponents to get his hands on the $112,185 top prize.
It was a mixed summer for Beresford in terms of live poker. While his quest for a WSOP bracelet didnt go to plan, he managed a sixth-place finish in the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Vegas event for $170,000.
With this victory, Beresford pushed his online poker tournament winnings to almost $8.4 million, with $5.47 million of that impressive total stemming from his play at PokerStars. Beresford secured the $112,185 top prize in this tournament by defeating manumanu1985 of Ukraine heads-up, resigning the runner-up to an $81,408 consolation prize.
All but one of the nine players at the final table walked away with a five-figure prize. Exculibrus of Poland banked $8,629 before Geraldo GeraldoCesar Cesar Neto won $11,891 for his eighth-place finish.
