Welcome from sunny Estonia for the latest instalment of the Coolbet Open €550 Main Event at the Chesterfield Poker Club and Nordic Hotel Forum in Tallinn. The charming and historical city is just a short flight away from many major cities in Europe and many Finnish poker players regularly make the trip over by ferry from Helsinki as well.
It is also where there very first Coolbet Open took place right here in Tallinn back in May 2018, albeit at the nearby Olympic Park Casino. Another four editions followed in Estonia before the live poker tour embarked on a journey to the Banco Casino in Bratislava in September 2023. Previous winners in the Tallinn include Sebastian Wahl, Mats Albertsen, Mathias Siljander, Ott Toome, as well as Kaido Mikk with most of the participants hailing from Scandinavian countries.
The trip to Slovakia produced a field of 620 entries and Finland's Ville Hakala earned the title as well as top prize of €60,000. Four stops of Coolbet Live then took place in the current year at the Chesterfield Poker Club and the seventh edition of Coolbet Open is now upon us.
Two starting days are available in the 2024 Coolbet Open Tallinn Main Event on August 28 and 29, 2024, both of which will play nine levels of 45 minutes each. Unlimited re-entries are available all day long and the late registration will remain open for the first level on Day 2 as well. Everyone receives 30,000 in chips and the opening blinds will be 100-100 with a big blind ante of 100, giving all players in the first level 300 big blinds at their disposal.
Players were able to win a €1,600 package for this event on the Coolbet online poker platform, the main sponsor of the event. The package consists of the €550 buy-in to Coolbet Open Main Event, five nights accommodation at the event venue, €250 in travel compensation, lunch or dinner buffet for five days and an exclusive Coolbet goodiebag.
Besides the Main Event, the schedule from August 26 until September 1, 2024, includes several satellites and Side Events for as little as €25 and up to €1,100 entry fee. There are a total of 28 events with a mixture of NLHE, PLO and other poker variants such as Sviten Special and 8-Game. Especially popular among the Coolbet Open regulars are the €220 Coolbet Open Warm-up and the €330 Coolbet Open Deepstack Championships, which typically attract a large crowd.
Coolbet’s team of Twitch streamers will again be present at the Coolbet Open and they will be in charge of hosting the late evening hyper turbos. Norway's Christian “Sycksbe” Arstad last year managed to win his own tournament!
Day 1a of the Main Event kicks off at noon local time and the PokerNews live updates team will be on the floor to provide all the action from Estonia.
