Noah Schwartz Eliminated in 6th Place (166,000)
Philipp Gruissem raised to 51,000 in first position, Igor Kurganov called, one seat to his left, Justin Bonomo called on the button and Noah Schwartz made up the quartet from the big blind.
Flop:
Not the most impressive looking flop, but one that sparked a few fireworks nonetheless. Gruissem checked, Kurganov bet 144,000, Bonomo folded and Schwartz moved all-in for 460,000. Gruissem was next and he didn't even think about it as he slid his chips across the line. So that was two red "all-in" triangles on the table, would there be a third? Kurganov asked the dealer if he could use pen and paper to work out his maths, but was told to use his head. Use his head he did and he mucked his hand. It was showdown time with Schwartz at risk of elimination.
Gruissem:
Schwartz:
So it was Schwartz ahead, with the two pair, and Gruissem searching for a club.
Turn: & River:
Gruissem gets there on the river and Schwartz is out, earning 166,000.
Schwartz didn't quite share an opinion about busting out of a tournament, but he did share his opinion on other topics with Lynn Gilmartin during a break yesterday.
