Jacobson Turning the Screw
Martin Jacobson has just won a monster pot and is far and beyond the chip leader.
Jacobson has been putting pressure on everyone, first he shoved from the small blind and forced Bryn Kenney to fold, then he move in from the button and forced Kenney — again — and Jonathan Duhamel to muck their hands.
It is not just the short stacks he is bullying, he is also going for the throat of the biggest stacks, namely Alexandre Reard.
Timothy Reilly opened to 33,000 under the gun and after Vojtech Ruzicka folded Martin Jacobson called. Three players folded and it was up to Reard to act in the big blind. He checked his hole cards and raised to 75,000. Reilly folded but Jacobson called.
The already substantial pot grew even larger when Reard lead for 100,000 on the flop. Jacobson called and the pot swelled even further. The was met with another Reard bet, one for 180,000! The increased sized didn't deter Jacobson and he called.
The river was the and now Reard checked. Jacobson, who must have cajones the size of basketballs, moved all-in! Reard removed his sunglasses and tried to study his opponent and replay the hand in his head. Eventually, around a minute after Jacobson's shove, Reard folded and left himself 460,000 chips.
