Following an open raise, Jeffrey Lam reraised to 8,500 and Marcos Martinez moved all in from the button for 17,000. The original raiser folded and Lam made the call. Players turned their cards for showdown, with Martinez at risk.
Marcos Martinez: 8?8?
Jeffrey Lam: A?A?
Martinez had pocket eights and Lam had pocket aces. The board ran out 4?8?5?J?3?. Martinez flopped a set of eights to come back from behind and double up.
Cecile Ticherfatine raised from early position and was three-bet to 6,500 by Maxime Colom on the button. Action folded back around to Ticherfatine and she four-bet to 16,000. Colom called.
The flop came 6?9?10? and Ticherfatine continued for an 11,000 bet. Colom called.
Ticherfatine slowed down and checked on the 2? turn and Colom went all in, which was enough to put Ticherfatine all in for her last 37,000. Ticherfatine snap-called and hands were revealed.
Cecile Ticherfatine: 10?10?
Maxime Colom: Q?Q?
Ticherfatine had flopped a set of tens and had a commanding lead in the hand.
The 7? river failed to improve Colom and he was forced to surrender the majority of his chips to Ticherfatine.
Morad Boursat raised from early position and Christophe Beyer shoved from the small blind. Boursat made the call and was at risk as players flipped their cards.
Morad Boursat: A?Q?
Christophe Beyer: A?K?
The board ran out 8?8?8?7?5?. Neither player improved and so Beyer held with his ace king high to win the pot. Boursat was eliminated from the tournament.

Action folded around to Dan Heimiller, who moved all in from the hijack. He was called by George Chiriac on the button and the blinds folded to leave two players to turn their cards, with Heimiller at risk.
Dan Heimiller: Q?10?
George Chiriac: A?Q?
"Ten, ten, ten," urged Heimiller.
The board ran out 4?5?K?10?8?. Heimiller's ten did come on the turn and he doubled up his stack.
Pavlos Xanthopoulos was heads-up from early position against Younes Hammouchi in the big blind on a board of 7?7?3?4?. Hammouchi checked to Xanthopoulos, who bet 33,000. Hammouchi then check-raised to 89,000 and Xanthopoulos called.
The 2? completed the board and Hammouchi announced he was all in for 123,000 total. Xanthopoulos went deep into the tank as many of the remaining players surrounded the table.
After several minutes, Xanthopoulos committed a call and Hammouchi nodded his head in acknowledgment as he turned over K?9? for a stone bluff. Xanthopoulos revealed 6?6? for sevens-up to scoop the pot and burst the Day 2 bubble.

A total of 459 entries were made to Day 1d, which dwarfed entry numbers of the previous night’s turbo flight. Of those, 15 percent made it through.
A total of 1,928 players have now entered across four starting flights; there are still four more to go before Day 2 begins on August 25. Players who haven’t yet made it to Day 2 still have multiple chances left, with two entries available per flight.
Last year’s Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event reached a record-breaking total of 6,313 entries. Flights in this year’s event are expected to get even busier as the days go on, so there’s every chance those numbers will be breached and new records set.
