Jean-Noel Thorel limped from under the gun and Nick Petrangelo raised to 22,000 on the button. Action folded back to Thorel, who three-bet to 52,000. Petrangelo called.
Petrangelo proceeded to call bets from Thorel on every street. First for 50,000 on the K?10?2? flop, then for 75,000 on the 10? turn, and lastly for 170,000 on the 6? river.
Thorel tabled 2?2? for deuces-full and Petrangelo sent his hand into the muck.
Welcome to Day 2 of the second largest buy-in at this year's PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona stop. The 50,000 Super High Roller Second Chance returns today, with cards scheduled to be in the air at 12:30 p.m. local time.
A total of 20 entries made their way to Casino Barcelona last night for a shortened Day 1. However, this was just 13 unique entries and seven re-entries. A number of new runners will likely join the fray as registration remains open to the start of play today.
Jesse Lonis and Nick Petrangelo enter the day tied at the top of the chip counts. The American pros both managed to bag exactly 650,000 chips and will use their stacks to apply pressure to their opponents. Estonia's Vladimir Korzinin rounds out the podium after he finished the day with 617,000.
These players are joined by several of poker's most famous and brightest stars. Poker Hall of Famer Patrik Antonius returns for Day 2, along with long-time Canadian high rollers Sam Greenwood and Mike Watson.
