Nicolas Betbese had opened in the cutoff and been faced with a three-bet by Peter Jorgne. Betbese quickly moved all in and Jorgne made the call to put Betbese at risk.
Nicolas Betbese: A?K?
Peter Jorgne: J?J?
Betbese was behind in a race and no help arrived on the 10?4?4?10?6? runout, sending him to the rail.
Peter Jorgne opened to 11,000 and was faced with a three-bet all-in jam from Georgios Vrakas for around 70,000.
The clock was called but Jorgne but his calling chips in just as the tournament director arrived, to put Vrakas at risk.
Georgios Vrakas: 6?6?
Peter Jorgne: A?Q?
Vrakas was ahead in a race but was up out of his seat after the 9?A?Q? flop left him drawing to a six, which didn't arrive on the 2?10? turn and river.
At least 280,000 was in the middle in a hand between Slim Gabsi and Matei Lupascu, with the board reading 7?4?A?7?5?.
Lupascu checked to Gabsi, who moved all in for 200,000.
Lupascu went deep into the tank, taking at least five minutes, peering at the board and counting his chips. Eventually a table mate called the clock.
When it got down to 15 seconds, Lupascu suddenly made the call.
Gabsi, who had almost been in a trance during the time Lupascu was taking to make his decision, looked shocked and had to check Lupascu had indeed said call.
Gabsi turned over A?5? for a pair of aces, while Lupascu had 10?7? for a set of sevens, sending him a huge pot.
Nathan Touboul opened to 110,000 leaving himself only 40,000 behind, and Mohamed Tebni moved all in for 135,000.
Being on the soft-bubble, Touboul really didn't like the spot he found himself in, but he had little option but to make the call given it was only 25,000 more and he covered his opponent.
Mohamed Tebni: A?K?
Nathan Touboul: 10?10?
Touboul was ahead in a race with his tens and no help arrived for Tebni on the 3?4?8?5?J? runout.
Kalidou Sow opened to 20,000 from early position and Clement Bonnant shoved for 264,000 total from the hijack. Action folded back around to Sow, who went deep into the tank. Several minutes passed by before Sow decided to calll all in for his last 200,000.
Kalidou Sow: J?J?
Clement Bonnant: A?K?
It was a huge coinflip on the stone bubble. The 4?2?5? flop kept Sow in front, but the 3? turn gave Bonnant a wheel and left Sow drawing dead.
The J? river improved Sow to a meaningless set and he was eliminated just short of the money.

The venue was absolutely packed today and after late registration closed at the end of level 10, around 290 entrants were left from the 540 strong field, each vying for a place in the top 15 percent to progress.
The knockouts came quickly and players such as Andrew Hulme, PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot, Steve O'Dwyer and Benny Glaser all failed to make the cut.
Play then slowed down and tightened up significantly once the field reached 95, the tournament director being kept extremely busy as the clock was called regularly and on numerous different tables. At a couple of points clocks were called on tables almost simultaneously.
The bubble eventually burst when Kalidou Sowlost a flip with jacks against Clement Bonnant's ace-king.
Players now have two final opportunities to progress to Day 2, with Days 1e and 1f due to begin on Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time, featuring 30-minute and 20-minute levels respectively, but otherwise following the same structure as previous flights.
All players who advance to Day 2 will return on Saturday, February 17 at noon local time to 60-minute levels.
