Ami Barer opened to 21,000 with the Q?8? in the cutoff and Anton Wigg defended 9?7? out of the big blind. Both players had something on the A?10?9? flop and Wigg check-called for 30,000. The J? turn gave Barer the straight and a flush draw.
Wigg checked, Barer bet 38,000 and took it down without any further resistance.
Two more high roller events have taken place at EPT Paris, and some familiar faces have left the star-studded fields in their wake once again.
Teun Mulder picked up his first live PokerStars win of the year while Daniel Dvoress claimed his second title of the series, just days after prevailing in 25,000 NL Hold'em.
Also among the latest winners in the French capital is 2017 Irish Open champion Griffin Benger. The Canadian sprinted to first place in last night's 1,050 NLHE Hyper Turbo.
Three ways on a flop of 10?9?J?, Younes Hammouchi checked from the big blind and Jorge Ramella bet 23,000 from the hijack. Gianluca Speranza called on the button and Hammouchi then check-raised to 61,000. Both Ramella and Speranza called.
Hammouchi continued for 73,000 on the 10? turn and only Ramella called.
Both players checked down on the 2? river and Hammouchi tabled J?7? for jacks-up. Ramella turned over K?K? for a better two pair and collected the sizable pot.
Byron Kaverman lost a small showdown pot to Eliot Hudon when a missed open-ender was called by second pair.
Soon after, they tangled again when Hudon raised to 16,000 with the K?10? and Kaverman defended the 5?4? in the big blind. Kaverman checked for Hudon to bet 30,000 but Kaverman was having none of it, as he check-raised to 95,000 to earn back the previous losses.
Leon Sturm raised to 16,000 in middle position before Owen Dodd three-bet to 45,000 in the hijack. Sturm called and they went heads-up to the 8?K?6? flop.
Dodd continued for 30,000 and Sturm raised to 65,000. Dodd called and the 3? fell on the turn.
Sturm checked over to Dodd who bet 80,000. Sturm then moved all in and Dodd tanked for a minute before calling for his last 143,000.
Sturm showed K?Q? for a pair of kings, while Dodd was on a flush draw holding A?J?. The 4? river completed Dodd's flush and he let out a fist pump and snapped a photo of the board before accepting his double up.
At the same table, Florian Duta has around 970,000 sitting under his porcelain giraffe figurine. Tobias Peters is also at this table with around 410,000 stacked up in his usual symmetrical pattern.
The pot stood at approximately 200,000 with two players looking at a full board of 7?Q?7?2?Q?.
Kostya Zaks, in the hijack, bet out 100,000. Alex Keating thought for some time, clearly frustrated by the decision he faced.
After some time in the tank, Keating slid a stack of blues into the Zaks' stack as if they were a gift, also signifying a call. Zaks tabled J?J?, which was good enough to win this pot.
Byron Kaverman made it 18,000 to go from an early position with the A?A? and Ami Barer defended K?Q? in the big blind. Barer check-called for 16,000 on the K?J?3? flop and checked again the 3? on the turn.
Kaverman now bet 50,000 for Barer to come along and checked the 10? on the river. The third barrel of Kaverman was for 130,000 and it was clearly visible that Barer didn't like the final bet, as he went through the emotions and even took off the hoodie around his neck.
Four time banks vanished while Kaverman stared at the board and Barer then folded.
After the hand was completed, EPT Main Event champion Anton Wigg arrived with a big stack.
