There haven't been a lot of significant pots as of late and Paul Tedeschi has maintained his lead over Jeremy Trojand and Ali Abdulzahra.
In a recent hand, Abdulzahra raised on the button and Tedeschi called in the big blind.
Tedeschi check-called a bet from Abdulzahra on the 8?J?9? flop and then Abdulzahra called a bet from Tedeschi on the 8? turn.
The 8? river brought trips on board and Tedeschi led out for another bet. Abdulzahra tanked for a long time, but eventually opted to lay his hand down.
Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 21st episode, Connor speaks with Survivor legend Boston Rob, aka Rob Mariano, about growing up near Fenway Park, learning poker at the age of 6, studying psychology at Boston University, applying for Survivor and winning Season 22, his recent appearance on Deal or No Deal Island and filming an upcoming season of The Traitors.
Boston Rob also revealed a story about Costa Rican authorities raiding a mansion known to host high-stakes poker games during a 2006 filming that included Daniel Negreanu, Josh Arieh, David Williams, Michael Mizrachi and actress Cheryl Hines.
"(Gambling mogul) Calvin (Ayre) had a big party at the house, and they came in guns drawn," he said. "And we were fine, but we all had to stay at the party until they checked our passports and everything. I think it was a little bit of a shakedown. But we had a good weekend."
Jeremy Trojand raised from the small blind and Paul Tedeschi defended his big blind.
Trojand stood pat and Tedeschi drew two. Tedeschi then raised a bet from Trojand, who called.
Both players stood pat on the second draw and Trojand checked to Tedeschi, who bet. Trojand check-raised and Tedeschi let his hand go after a bit of thought.
"Aye aye aye, it's hard to bluff you!" Tedeschi said.
Jeremy Trojand raised and called a three-bet from Paul Tedeschi. Trojand drew two and Tedeschi drew one. Trojand check-raised and eventually got his remaining 130,000 chips in the middle.
He stood pat and Tedeschi drew one.
Both players stood pat on the end and the cards were turned over.
Jeremy Trojand: 7x6x5x3x2x
