Mats Ullereng raised to 600,000 from the small blind and Jonas Hagstrom called in the big blind.
On the A?K?8? flop, Ullereng continued with a bet of 600,000, and Hagstrom stuck around.
The A? hit on the turn, and Ullereng fired again, with a downsized bet of 700,000. Hagstrom again called.
The 3? river completed the board. Ullereng took some time to think before moving all in with the covering stack, and after some thought, Hagstrom made the call.
Ullereng tabled A?K? for the full house, while Hagstrom had 8?7? for two pair aces and eights, bringing a battling performance to an end.
Ullereng enters heads-up play with Grzegorz Kozieja with a 3:1 chip advantage.

Hagstrom hated the spot, removed his cap and pulled down his hood. After two or so minutes in the tank he sent his hand into the muck.
PokerStars and Club Barrière have announced the cancellation of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris 2025, which was originally scheduled to run from February 12-23 at Le Palais des Congrès.
The cancellation is part of a broader uncertainty surrounding Paris’s gaming landscape. Recent developments indicate that gaming clubs in the city, which have operated under strict regulations since 2019, are at risk of closure by the end of the year.
The announcement comes as a shock, particularly after the news comes exactly a month since the unveiling of the 2025 EPT schedule.
EPT Paris was slated to kick off the tour's new season, returning for its third year after record-breaking attendance in 2024.
Grzegorz Kozieja called in the small blind. Mats Ullereng checked his option in the big blind.
The 8?J?7? flop was checked around before Kozieja led the 2? turn for 500,000. Ullereng called. The 5? river saw another lead from Kozieja, this time for 1,200,000. Ullereng went into the tank for over a minute before announcing 4,500,000.
It was then Kozieja's turn to enter the tank. He used around two minutes of time before folding his hand.
Jonas Hagstrom opened to 500,000 and Mats Ullereng defended in the big blind.
On the J?10?2? flop, Ullereng check-called versus a bet of 325,000 from Hagstrom.
The 5? turn followed the same pattern, this time in respect of a 1,375,000 bet from the Swede.
The 2? river completed the board, and Ullereng checked once more. Hagstrom jammed for 4,000,000, a pot-sized bet, and Ullereng went into the tank, taking at least three minutes before ultimately tapping the table and disposing of his cards.
