Chen Out With Aces (to 7-9 Suited)
We ran into Andrew Chen in the hallway and he told us the story of his bust out upon request.
Chen told us that he opened under the gun with a 70,000 stack to 2,800 holding pocket aces without the ace of hearts. Tamer Kamel two seats over made it 6,100 and action folded back to Chen. Chen, who won the EPT London High Roller not too long ago for 394,200 and chopped the Master Classics of Poker Main Event in Amsterdam for another 190,000 last month, four bet to 16,800. Kamel made the call.
The flop came with two hearts and Chen shoved all in for about 53,000, expecting Kamer not to fold a hand like kings anyway. Tamer indeed did not fold, but didn't turn up with a big over pair as one might have expected. Chen's aces had to dodge a lot of outs as Kamer showed for the open ended and straight draw.
The on the turn didn't do much, but the on the river did. Chen made his way out of the tournament area, Kamel gathered all the chips.
