As usual in the high roller tournament scene, the start of the tournament has been slightly delayed to allow more players to enter the tournament.
Welcome to one of the first events which the PokerNews live reporting team will be covering in 2020 here at PokerStars LIVE Manila. At 5 p.m. local time, the cards should go in the air for one of the first marquee events of the festival, the ?500,000 Super High Roller at the inaugural Red Dragon Manila which will take place in the beautiful Coral Lounge in the stunning Okada Manila.
Bin Sun won the ?10,000,000 Super High Roller in Jeju (?220,295,000) which equaled around US$189,450 at the time. Day 1 in Jeju attracted 75 entries and another 16 entered on Day 2 due to the unlimited re-entry format. The tournament in Manila also offers players the chance to reenter an unlimited amount of times for the ?500,000 (~US$9,858) buy-in but late reg is only possible until the end of Level 10 with 12 levels on the schedule for Day 1.
Each level lasts 40 minutes and a shot clock will be in play from the start. Players will receive 250,000 in chips in their start stack with 4 time bank cards worth 30 seconds each. Another two will be handed out at the start of Day 2 with two more given to the players who reach the final table.
A 15-minute break has been scheduled after every three levels in this two-day event with Day 2 scheduled to start at 1 p.m. local time on Sunday, January 5.
In Jeju the Super High Roller was scheduled for the end of the festival while here in Manila it's one of the first, who knows how many players will show up for the first-ever Red Dragon Manila Super High Roller.
