Van Tiep Nguyen Eliminated in 2nd Place (€64,125)
Soon after Benjamin Benoit was knocked out in third place, Van Tiep Nguyen lost two small pots and dropped to around 1,100,000. He then got those chips in preflop and Anatoly Filatov called.
Van Tiep Nguyen:
Anatoly Filatov:
"Wait," Filatov told the dealer and grabbed his mini camera to film the showdown. Nguyen was already on his own phone for a call and the flop came to give Nguyen a straight and flush draw. "Oh shit," Filatov said while the turn blanked, and he asked for another brick on the river. Indeed, the changed nothing and the Russian was crowned as champion.
Both players take home €64,125, but Filatov gets the added bonus of scooping a consecutive partypoker LIVE High Roller trophy.
