Day 1 Completed
Opening night of the August version of the partypoker US Network Online Series began with a $20 buy-in Event #1: $2,000 GTD PKO Bounty, and saw 151 entries generate a total prize pool of $2,718 to exceed the guarantee by over 35%. When all was said and done, "Barrettwins" was the last one standing, earning a total of $558 in winnings ($294 in prizes + $264 in bounties) for their efforts, and doing so by way of six consecutive eliminations en route to victory.
"Barrettwins" found themselves dry on chips early in the night, but quickly reversed their fortunes and was seen near the top of the leader board well before the closure of the registration period. They fell to the middle of the pack as play moved towards, and into the money before again building a large stack as the tournament reached the final table bubble. However, they entered the final table as the shortest stack in the tournament after doubling eventual eighth-place finisher "Big_Daddy" before ten could become nine.

Eventual runner-up RGAx732x took the early chip lead as they eliminated "fnasty97" in ninth place when their top pair held up against an overcard and three different draws. Shortly after, they held with sixes to the ace-king suited of "Big_Daddy" to pull further ahead and bring the field down to seven.
"Barrettwins" then eliminated "POKERDORMS" in seventh place when their jacks held against ace-jack with stacks going in preflop, and they knocked out "Anonymous5413" a couple of minutes later to pull nearly even with "RGAx732x" as five remained.
Five-handed play went on for half an hour as "gorillagolf" found themselves short, and got all in wtih ace-five to the ace-eight of "Barrettwins," who scored their third straight knockout on the final table. A couple of hands later, "Barrettwins" got their fourth elimination of the final table as they eliminated "whatever" with kings to ace-queen in another all-in preflop situation.
A full level of three-handed play then went by with chip stacks going up and down before "Barrettwins" got yet another knockout, eliminating "high-card" in third place with ace-jack to ace-trey after stacks got in on an ace-high flop. Heads-up play then began with "Barrettwins" holding nearly two-thirds of the chips in play, and they took about five minutes to halve their opponent's stack. The win then came via another all-in preflop scenario, where their ace-jack suited held versus ace-six offsuit to take the win in style, earning six consecutive knockouts to claim the title.

Both players had flopped top pair, but "Barrettwins" was way out in front with their jack kicker. "high-card" needed to hit a trey or running wheel cards to double, and also had outs to a deuce or a running paired board to chop. Instead, the turn and river left their hand second best and they were eliminated from the tournament in third place.
Meanwhile, "Barrettwins" now takes nearly a two-to-one chip advantage into an already-begun heads-up match.
