Dan "mj23style" Sewnig Wins partypoker US Network Online Series Event #8 ($20K GTD) for $7,150
Event #8 of the partypoker US Network Online Series drew 143 entries at $215 each to generate a total prize pool of $28,600, beating its $20K guarantee by over 40%. When all was said and done, Dan "mj23style" Sewnig was the last man standing and earned the top prize of $7,150 for his efforts.
The event exceeded its guarantee two-thirds of the way through the late registration period, and Sewnig found himself with a top-10 stack as registration looked to close. He stayed above average as play made it into the money more than an hour later and withstood an onslaught of eliminations that saw 20 players become 13 within two levels before chips began to truly fly.
"supafishh" got all in with ace-ten suited against the pocket jacks of seventh-place finisher "ryanmco18", who flopped a full house. Two cards later, "supafishh" had hit a backdoor royal flushhttps://www.wildvideoparty.com/tours/partypoker-us-online/partypoker-us-network-online-series-oct-11-18/event-8/chips.387972.htm to temporarily stave off elimination, though they fell in 13th.
Both Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd and Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon had amassed huge stacks, but Kwon would then get crippled after his ace-king could not hold to the ace-ten of "RiverMan", who aptly hit a straight on the river. Sewnig then rose to prowess, winning a three-way all-in with ace-king to eliminate Ryan "TheSims" Hohner in 10th place before knocking out "RiverMan" in ninth to take the chip lead into the final table.

A familiar face at final tables throughout the summer in Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken became the first to drop in eighth, and "ryanmco18" fell just moments thereafter when their pocket nines lost a coin flip to Sewnig's ace-king. Sewnig continued to increase his chip lead over the next two levels as six-handed play continued before "TheTerminator1", Brian "TopCreature" Sherrier, and Don "dhimp20" Himeple all fell within a five-minute span.
The tournament then went on a five-minute break and shortly after its return Sewnig eliminated Dodd in third after getting stacks in on a seven-four-trey flop. Dodd had king-four suited and his middle pair wound up behind Sewnig's pocket nines, where it stayed through the runout to result in Sewnig taking more than 85% of the chips in play into the heads-up match with "pay4medsch00l".
"pay4medsch00l" started the match with all the momentum, eventually nearly tripling their stack from where they started the match. From there, Sewnig won a few pots and then correctly called a large river bet with second pair to leave "pay4medsch00l" with less than 10 big blinds. Two minutes later, stacks got in preflop and Sewnig wound up with the best of it to claim the title and the accompanying first-place prize of $7,150.
