First-Ever PokerStars Ontario Champion to Be Crowned in ONCOOP Main Event
The inaugural PokerStars Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP) heads into its final stretch when Event 61-L: $50 NLHE [8-Max, Main Event - Low] begins today at 5:05 p.m. ET.
Players in Canada's most populous province have already had their chance to chase an ONCOOP title in 58 events since the series began on Oct. 1. PokerStars Team Pro and popular Twitch streamer Arlie "Prince Pablo" Shaban has enjoyed an extraordinary series so far, leading all players with five titles.
There are currently 105 players registered for the tournament, but that number should increase dramatically with late registration open until 9:30 p.m. and satellites running until the end of the registration window. Players begin with 50,000 chips and will play 15-minute levels. Five reentries are allowed during late registration.
Action on Day 1 will pause around 12:45 a.m. and resume tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. to play down to a champion. The event features a guaranteed $40,000 prize pool.
PokerNews will be following the action the entire way and providing live updates until the first-ever Ontario PokerStars champion is crowned.
