Jouhkimainen Making all the Right Calls
Just moments earlier, according to Espen Jorstad, the reigning WSOP Main Event champion got all of his chips in the middle holding pocket jacks and was called by pocket queens. Joni Jouhkimainen, also at the table, predicted that a jack was coming because those are his initials. Indeed a jack came on the flop and Jorstad doubled up to stay alive.
Now the action had folded to Fabiano Kovalski in the small blind who limped in and Jouhkimainen checked his option. The flop came and both players checked to the on the turn.
Kovalski tossed in a bet of 7,000 and Jouhkimaninen called to see the on the river. Kovalski flicked in another bet of 14,000 and Jouhkimainen quickly called. Kovalski tabled for nothing while Jouhkimainen held for two pair.
