Welcome To the 2022 RunGood Poker Series Contenders Tour Tunica $575 Main Event
It has been almost two years to the day since the last time the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) came to Tunica, Miss., and now it's finally time for Horseshoe Tunica to resume a familiar hosting as for the RGPS Contenders Tour $575 Main Event looks to be getting underway shortly.
Day 1a begins Friday evening at 7 p.m. local time inside the Horseshoe Tunica Poker Room. Players will receive 25,000 in chips to start, and levels will be 30 minutes apiece, starting at 100/100. A dozen levels are scheduled for the day, with breaks after every four levels, or two hours of play. All who are still in contention upon the completion of Level 12 (1,500/2,500/2,5000 will then bag and tag their chips, advancing to Sunday's Day 2 at noon.
Unlimited re-entries are available through the second break of the evening, with late registration closing at the beginning of Level 9 (600/1,200/1,200; approx. 11:20 p.m. local time). Whoever does not make it through a full 12 levels of play will have two more shots again tomorrow should they so need, with Days 1b and 1c beginning Saturday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. From there, the field will combine on Sunday, where blinds will increase to 40 minutes in length and the field will play down to a winner.
RunGood Ambassadors "Boston" Rob Mariano, Dan Lowery, Preston McEwen, Julie Cornelius, and Michael Sanders are expected to be in attendance, and a couple other notables in Kyle Cartwright and Papa Karn have also been spotted in prelim events earlier this week, with Karn already having found his way to the payout desk three times this series.
