The chips keep on flying and the latest all-in and call came from table 11 right in front of the live stream feature table.
Harold Brooks flipped with the J?J? to put Dylan Wilkerson at risk holding the A?K?.
Wilkerson took the lead on the K?4?4? flop and retained it on the 8? turn. However, the J? river brought another twist to the story and Brooks scored the knockout.
Gilbert Tin Fook raised to 20,000 with the K?Q? from under the gun and Gareth Fourie called with the 7?7? in middle position. Colin Horgan three-bet to 80,000 on the button with A?A? and the blinds folded. Tin Fook ripped it in for 268,000 to force out Fourie, while Horgan obviously snapped it off.
The A?K?4?A?4? runout gave Horgan quads and Tin Fook the trip to the payout desk.
Gavin Sardini jammed the 5?3? and Wessel Conradie then moved all-in over the top to isolate,
"I gonna need a lot of help," Sardini said and another player jokingly said he would hit a straight flush.
Conradie's K?K? were miles ahead but fell behind until the 9?8?3?5? turn. The river was the K? and Sardini was gone.
The next casualty soon after was Jaron Kavnat as the post bubble. He had the A?4? for a short stack and was called by Joey Weissman with the J?J?. Kavnat found hope for a comeback only to get rivered on the A?K?10?2?J? board.
A short-stacked BC Van Rooyen was all-in and Max Deveson got the chips in thereafter only for the nearly even-stacked Jean Souprayenmestry to look them up.
BC Van Rooyen: A?4?
Max Deveson: A?Q?
Jean Souprayenmestry: Q?Q?
The 9?6?4?8?8? board brought no miracle escape for Van Rooyen and Deveson's 20 blinds were also narrowly covered by Souprayenmestry.
Brandon Bruintjies limp-called a raise by Ahmed Karrim in the small blind and they then somehow got it in after the Q?6?6? flop. Karrim bet small, Bruintjies raised to 50,000 and Karrim reraised to 90,000. The shove by Bruintjies for almost 400,000 followed and Karrim instantly called.
Brandon Bruintjies: 8?8?
Ahmed Karrim: 6?5?
The 5? turn and A? river brought no miracle escape.
Cliton Taliwanth had raised from under the gun and then quickly called the shove by Sheldon Grove out of the big blind for what appeared to be around 75,000. They had to wait for all other tables to finish before proceeding with the following showdown.
Sheldon Grove: A?10?
Cliton Taliwanth: A?K?
The K?Q?8?10?5? board kept Taliwanth ahead all the way and he burst the bubble. Grove received an entry to an SPT Main Event in 2025 of his choice.
The hand-for-hand on the bubble was supposed to take place but there was a big hand unfolding on table ten, after a rather simple limped pot to the 10?9?8? flop. That's when it all came to an explosion with Gilbert Tin Fook as initial limper all-in, as was Richard Barnard in the small blind.
Both were covered by Colin Horgan, who had flopped the bottom end of the straight!
Richard Barnard: K?J?
Gilbert Tin Fook: J?10?
Colin Horgan: 7?6?
The J? turn gave Tin Fook hope with two pair and the Q? river improved Barnard to a king-high straight for the triple up. For the side pot, the board played and Tin Fook escaped from elimination.
Defending champion Ahmed Karrim has been adding chips to become one of the bigger stacks in the room. On the river of a heads-up blind battle with Max Deveson, he bet 35,000 on the Q?Q?3?3?10? board. Deveson used one time bank extension and then called, but mucked versus Q?9? for a full house.
Ryan David Anderson then chopped in the next hand with the table chip leader when both had a jack-high straight on the turn.
Fast forward one hand, Kumi Pather three-bet jammed for 56,000 and Karrim called as the initial raiser.
Kumi Pather: A?K?
Ahmed Karrim: A?7?
The J?9?7?J?Q? board delivered the sucker punch and Pather was gone before the money.
Russel Wheatley raised and Eban Lottering then jammed a shorter stack. Ariel Mazabow got his shorter stack in from the next seat and the two all-ins were called by Colin Horgan. Wheatley then went all-in over the top for 156,000 and Horgan called after getting a count.
The cards had barely gone in the air when Remy Murcia three-bet jammed his short stack. Once Keegan Naidoo called, he joked "now I am really fucked" as he rolled over the 4?3?. Naidoo was ahead with the A?6? but Murcia took the lead with the Q?8?4? flop and 2? turn.
The A? fell on the river and that spelled the end for Murcia.
