Way across the room, Soheil Shamseddin stood up from his chair and announced to everyone that he was all in. Hurrying over to his table, we saw that four cards were out on the board (), Shamseddin was indeed all in, and Joey Erwin had looked him up with the covering stack.
Showdown
Shamseddin:
Erwin:
Shamseddin was in great shape for a big double up, a clear favorite with one card to come. Much to his chagrin though, the ripped off on the river, making Erwin the winning come-from-behind two pair and sending Shamseddin oribiting the room, recounting the hand to anyone who would listen.
Erwin was clearly empathetic to the pro's fate, shaking his head and lamenting, "I made a bad read." Bad read or not, five cards fill out the board, and it was the fifth that saved Erwin. He has notched a knockout, vaulting up over 70,000 in the process.
