Day 1b Begins: Players Looking to Join 37 Runners From Day 1a
Welcome back to our coverage of the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit presented by Southern Comfort 100 proof. Yesterday's first flight of the $1,675 Harrah's Tunica Main Event saw 272 players hit the felt. By the end of play only 37 remained with stacks to take into Day 2. Leading the field was Bryan Campanello who was fresh off of his final table appearance at the WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant Main Event.
Other notable names who progressed through the arduous 17 levels of play on the first flight include David Clark (288,000), Kyle Cartwright (161,500), last-woman-standing Patricia Pate (118,000), Matthew Colvin (111,500), Aaron Massey (104,00), and Mark Maletic (69,000).
Those not so fortunate yesterday will have a shot at redemption during today's starting flight as this is a re-entry event. Players like last year's champion Kurt Jewell, Ari Engel, John Dolan, Claudia Crawford, Andrew Nguyen, Tripp Kirk, Rex Clinkscales, and Chris Moneymaker will all likely be returning to the felt for their second and final chance to make the ever elusive Day 2.
We will play another full 17 levels today which means that play will wrap up around 2:00 AM CST. Be sure to stay tuned as we journey through yet another starting field with players who are thirsty for WSOPC glory.
