Defending Versus Dang
The all-in bets have slowed down a bit, but here are a couple of recent hands resulting in some less dramatic chip movement. Both involved players in the blinds defending against late-position pressure from Yen Dang.
In the first, Dang raised to 25,000 from the button and got one caller in Debbie Pechac in the big blind. The flop arrived , and Pechac led for 60,000. Dang called. The turn was the and again Pechac bet out, this time 65,000. Dang called once more.
The river brought the and a 100,000-chip bet from Pechac, and this time Dang gave up her hand.
Soon after Dang was involved in another hand in which she'd opened from late position and got a caller from the blinds, this time Jan Howard in the big blind. The flop came , and as Pechac had done before, Howard led with a bet of 35,000 which Dang called. Howard then checked the turn, and when Dang bet 60,000, Howard called.
Howard checked the river, and a wary Dang checked behind. Howard showed for a queen-high flush, and Dang let her hand go.
