Deeb Shows Up with Surprising Winning Hand
With the action folding in front of him, two-time WSOP bracelet winner Freddy Deeb raised 10,000 on the button. He received calls from WSOP bracelet winner Stephen Chidwick in the small blind and Brandon Steven in the big blind.
The dealer fanned 10?J?7? on the board, which drew checks from Chidwick and Steven. Deeb bet 15,000 and received quick calls from his opponents.
The 5? on the turn got no action, as all three players checked to the river, which brought 8? and three-way action with straight and flush possibilities on the board.
Chidwick led out with 38,000, which Steven called. Deeb sat up in his chair and counted out 38,000 but kept it in his hand and he looked at the board, and then back to his cards. He then called.
Chidwick tabled 6?5? for a flush, prompting Steven to much his hand. Deeb chuckled and tabled 7?2? for a bigger flush and the winning hand.
“Don’t embarrass me by writing this hand,” Deeb said with a wink and laugh to PokerNews. “You can write it.”
