Corey Thompson told PokerNews that he was down to his last big blind before the break but had managed to find a triple up when play resumed.
He was soon all in again for his last 1,800 from early position. An opponent three-bet before folding to another player's four-bet. The cards then went on their back.
Corey Thompson: J?9?
Opponent: A?K?
Thompson made two pair on the J?9?2? flop to his delight.
"They don't call me Corey the Cinderella for nothing," joked Thompson to the table and he scooped in another triple up after the 4?2? turn and river.
On the following hand, Thompson opened to 1,000 and was called by the big blind. On the 10?9?4? flop, the big blind check-called Thompson's jam for around 5,000.
Corey Thompson: Q?J?
Big Blind: 4x2x
Thompson had two overcards and an open-ended straight draw but was behind the big blind's pair. The 9? turn brought in some counterfeit outs but Thompson's hopes of a Cinderella story quickly vanished as the board completed with the A?.
