While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Wynn Millions, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about some of the side events that have taken place out over the past month at the Wynn Summer Classic.
In Event #2: $1,100 NLH, 1,720 runners created a $1,677,000 prize pool that was paid out to the top 189 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Eric Baldwin (64th - $5,211), Jared Jaffee (45th - $6,437), Mike Shin (30th - $8,162), Jerod Smith (22nd - $10,598), and John Paul Cao (10th - $21,538).
In the end, it was Texas native Jonathan Tamayo who collected every chip in play to capture the first-place $237,935 payday.

Action folded to Brett Murray in the small blind and he simply moved all in to put pressure on four-time WSOP bracelet winner Brian Hastings, who called off for around 220,000 in the big.

A ten-high flop left Hastings in dire straits, and he was left drawing dead after a brick turn. Hastings hit the rail in 43rd place for $6,506.
Murray then redeemed his bounty ticket and snagged a cool $25,000 envelope!

With a board reading , action exploded between Rambo Halpern and David Mzareulov with the former being all in for around 1 million.

Halpern had two pair and a flush draw, but he was behind the bigger two pair of Mzareulov.
Halpern called for a diamond but it didn't happen as the bricked on the river. Halpern was eliminated in 44th place for $6,506.
