2019 World Series of Poker News: They Hurt The Equity of the Game
2018 Player of the Year Shaun Deeb is the chip leader coming into Day 4 of the Event #35: $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship. WSOP Player of the Year and four-time WSOP bracelet winner Shaun Deeb finished Day 3 with 2,601,000 in chips and if a decision wasn't made to end the day early, he was the favorite to collect his fifth WSOP bracelet.
The decision to end Day 3 early was met with backlash from some, and joy from others. The WSOP staff ruled that because players were told earlier that play would end at six, instead of continuing to play the scheduled seven levels, play would end for the day unless there was a unanimous vote. Friedman and Michael McKenna voted to end for the day, while Deeb, Matt Glantz, and David Moskowitz opposed.
Deeb explains how this decision, "Hurt Integrity and Equity of the Tournament" and was primarily an opportunity for the players with less experience in the game he started calling to go home and study.
