The Online Railbird Report: Somebody Better Call_911 as Blom Drops a Million

In last weeks Online Railbird Report , Niklas ragen70 Heinecker , who won the GuangDong Asia Millions in June for $4.46 million , finished as the weeks biggest winner with $1,897,290 in profit on Full Tilt Poker . He added to that total this week, but it was a more modest $351,652.
That was a good score, but six players did better. Call_911, who was last weeks biggest loser after dropping $815,800, redeemed himself by finishing as the weeks biggest winner with $930,277 in profit, which came in 3,838 hands over 29 sessions. Other winners included Denoking (+$922,292 in 28 sessions/3,777 hands), Kyle KPR16 Ray (+$778,021 in 46 sessions/5,049 hands), Patrik FinddaGrind Antonius (+$592,661 in 45 sessions/3,188 hands) and MalACEsia (+$494,850 in 37 sessions/6,616 hand). In addition, Phil MrSweets28 Galfond was the biggest winner over at PokerStars after banking $385,166 in 2,389 hands over 26 sessions.
On the flip side, proudlikeagoat was the weeks biggest loser after dropping $1,022,271 in 3,199 hands over 23 sessions. Not far behind was Viktor Isildur1 Blom , who continued to slide after dropping $942,423 in 11,396 hands over 111 session. That was a lot of volume for the Swede, and at times he was a bigger winnerbut you know how it can be with him.
Blom Wins a Million to Reclaim Yearly Lead
From Thursday through Friday of last week, Viktor Isildur1 Blom went on a tear to win $1.12 million and reclaim the top spot on the leader board for biggest winner of the year with nearly $4 million in profit.
After winning $468,000 on Thursday, Blom took to the $400/$800 no-limit holdem tables on Friday to square off against Alex IReadYrSoul Millar . The two played for only 30 minutes, but in that time the Swede managed to win $204,000 from Millar. Heres a look at the two biggest pots from that match.
Alex Millar & Viktor Blom
Hand #1: Millar ($105,463.50) opened for $2,700 and then called when Blom ($259,949) three-bet to $9,600, bringing about a flop of 5? 5? 6? . Millar called a bet of $12,800 and then Blom kept the pressure on with a bet of $24,800 on the 10? turn. Millar called, the J? completed the board on the river and Blom moved all in. Millar wasted little time in calling off his remaining $58,263.50 but mucked upon seeing Bloms J? Q? . Ship the $210,927 pot to the Swede.
Hand #2: The preflop action repeated itself from above hand and then Blom ($121,800) bet $12,800 on the 3? 6? 5? flop. Millar ($203,613.50) popped it to $28,800, Blom moved all in and Millar quickly called.
Millar: 7? 5?
Blom: 9? 9?
Millar had flopped middle pair with a gutshot straight draw, but he needed some help as Blom held an overpair. The 7? turn gave Millar the lead with two pair, but it was short lived as the 3? peeled off on the river to give Blom a bigger two pair and the $243,600 pot.
From there, Blom added wins against Kyle KPR16 Ray and KidPoker705 as he continued to play into the weekend. Meanwhile, Denoking was actually Fridays biggest winner with $492,700 in profit, which came in part from taking down five pots over $200,000. With that said, the days biggest pot actually went to MalACEsia, who finished as the days biggest loser after dropping half a million.
Heres the hand:
In Typical Fashion Blom Loses $1 Million Back
You should have quit when you were ahead, is something Viktor Isildur1 Blom has no doubt heard countless times in his young career. That advice would have rang true last weekend as he proceeded to give back the $1 million he had won on Thursday and Friday. It happened when Alex IReadYrSoul Millar and Blom squared off once again in a four-hour $400/$800 NLHE session.
Blom was ahead on numerous occasions, but each time Millar battled back. Then, in the last 40 minutes of their match, Millar took over the reins and finished a $297,000 winner.
The biggest pot of that match, which was a $401,100 monster, actually went to Blom ($200,550) and began when he opened for $2,400. Millar ($202,000) three-bet to $7,500, Blom called and the flop came down 10? 6? Q? . Millar led out for $6,400, Blom called and the A? turned. Blom called a bet of $21,075, the 8? completed the board on the river and Millar fired out $52,687.50. Blom proceeded to shove all in for $165,425 and Millar made the call. Blom rolled over the 9? 3? for a flush and Millar mucked.
Phil MrSweets28 Galfond
Blom continued to bleed money on Saturday, including a $160,000 loss to Sanlker. Meanwhile, Millar finished the day as the second biggest winner behind Phil MrSweets28 Galfond, who won $334,900 playing pot-limit Omaha on PokerStars. Galfond won a good chunk of that at the $50/$100 PLO tables against EireAbu and some from Daniel w00ki3z Cates at the $100/$200 PLO tables.
Big Action on Sunday Produces Seven Six-Figure Winners
The high-stakes NLHE games were going strong on Sunday, but even so it was surprising to see seven players walk away as six-figure winners. Among them was Denoking, who won $447,100 to bring his three-day total to over $1.2 million. Not surprisingly, Denoking won the days biggest pot.
In the hand, action was six-handed when Rhje ($184,973.89) opened for $2,000 from the cutoff and Phil OMGClayAiken Galfond ($170,158.45) called from the from the button. After the small blind folded, Denoking ($542,107.75) three-bet to $10,800 from the big, Rhje folded and Galfond called, leading to a 2? 6? 7? flop. Denoking proceeded to check-call a bet of $14,454 and then checked the 5? turn.
Galfond fired out $32,513.25 and Denoking immediately moved all in. Galfond called off his remaining $112,391.19 and just like that there was a $343,314 pot on the line. Galfond tabled the 10? 7? for top pair and a flush draw, but he was behind the J? J? of Denoking. The river was run twice, but neither the 8? on the first run nor 3? on the second helped Galfond and he watched the entire pot pushed to Denoking.
Another big winner on Sunday was Kyle KPR16 Ray, who finished a $402,300 winner due in no small part to a $300,000 win against Gus Hansen at the fixed-limit Omaha Hi/Lo tables. Speaking of the Great Dane, he mounted a comeback by taking $407,000 in a three-hour FLO8 session against SallyWoo. Hansen finished the day a $210,000 winner while SallyWoo was a $215,000 loser. Other winners included Trueteller and Call_911, who won $320,600 and $298,400 respectively.
There was one other pot over $300,000 on Sunday. Here it is:
MalACEsia Wins $290,000 in Tuesday Action
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, MalACEsia played $400/$800 NLHE for eight hours and walked away a $290,000 winner. During that time he took down the three biggest pots of the day. In the largest, action was six handed when MalACEsia ($202,816.20) opened for $1,800 under the gun only to have Denoking ($245,227.10) three-bet to $7,800 right behind. The rest of the field folded, MalACEsia four-bet to $19,400 and Denoking called, bringing about a flop of 6? 3? 9? .
MalACEsia bet $18,000, Denoking called and the K? appeared on the turn. This time MalACEsia bet $35,200, but he couldnt shake his opponent as Denoking called. When the A? completed the board on the river, MalACEsia moved all in for $130,216.19 and Denoking made the call. MalACEsia tabled the K? K? for a set and was pushed the $407,429 after Denoking mucked his hand.
Meanwhile, Patrik FinddaGrind Antonius and Kyle KPR16 Ray both won at the FLO8 tables on Tuesday banking $187,100 and $142,100, respectively.
